MOTOR CONTROLLING AMPLIFIER
EDD-3701x EtherCAT slave drive is a motor amplifier that operates in an EtherCAT distributed system where there are up to 32
slave drives and one master. It has a daisy chain topology using
standard CAT5 Ethernet cables. It can interface with Galil masters
(DMC-500x0 and DMC-52xx0) for sophisticated applications or
with TwinCAT for very simple applications.
The series can control brushed, brushless, steppers, and micro-stepping motors. Unlike the competition, the EDD-3701x can control a motor and has 8 digital inputs, 4 digital outputs, 2 analog
inputs, and 2 analog outputs. All I/O information from these drives
are accessible by the EtherCAT master. This capability can eliminate the need for separate EtherCAT I/O devices.
GALIL MOTION CONTROL
PRECISE POSITIONING WITH
Posidyne clutch brakes feature oil shear
technology for rapid and precise stopping,
starting, speed change, and positioning, all
without adjustment or maintenance. Ideal for applications with frequent start/stop
cycles—such as indexing conveyors, rotary tables, batch feeders, rotary coal samplers, cutoff machines, and more—these
unique motion control devices allow higher
cycle rates (up to 300 cycles per minute),
to increase production rates with lower
downtime. Faster production rates and significantly longer service life than traditional
(dry) clutch/brakes yields increased uptime,
productivity, and ROI.
Designed with low inertia cycling components makes the clutch brake more efficient,
requiring less motor horsepower to accelerate the load, and less torque to stop the load.
Their totally enclosed design is impervious
to dust, chips, chemicals, coolants, caustic wash down, weather, and more, making
them ideal for hostile environments.
FORCE CONTROL INDUSTRIES
MATCHED MOTOR/DRIVE COMBINATION PACKAGE
Combination motor/drive packages allow an end-user the option to select the
optimum solution for a variety of heavy-duty industrial motion control applications
from a single source. Choosing from a pre-determined list of
motor/drive combinations, the customer simply makes the
selection best suited to the application.
The motor and drive combinations are power-matched for 480V high-overload operation
through a 20 HP range, with I2T protection from
thermal damage provided as a standard in both
the motor and the drive components. The Siemens
Intelligent Operator Panel (IOP) is included with
these packages, allowing easy step-by-step drive
Application macros are provided in the
Sinamics G120C drive for easy installation and
wiring; the terminals are pre-assigned at the
factory and the parameters are automatically set.
Communications selections on these matched motor/
drive combinations include RS485 with USS and
Modbus protocols. A Profibus variant is also offered
for a Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) solution. TIA is
the proprietary Siemens solution for achieving optimum
performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability within a
machine or manufacturing environment.
